George Schultz  and Robert Crout

At the State Department, R. Crout presents to Secretary of State George P. Schultz the first volume of the Secretary of State Papers of James Madison. The volume was one of the first books for a new library for the personal use of Secretaries of State (1986).

Crout was in charge of the Secretary of State Series of the Madison Papers Project at the University of Virginia.

French Archives
At the French National Archives, Crout served as consultant on the cataloging of the Crevecoeur Papers, French Consul at New York in 1780s (2002).
